LAAD is an online art and design academy. Teaching, feedback, critique and project supervision all take place remotely, so you can study from wherever you are.
This page explains how the academy works, what the study routes are, who they suit, and what applying involves.
The academy
What LAAD is
London Academy of Art and Design Ltd. is registered in England and Wales (company number 16722339). It runs its teaching entirely online, in partnership with İstanbul Güzel Sanatlar Akademisi (İGSA), the Istanbul Academy of Fine Arts.
The academy's UK address is a correspondence address. There is no campus to visit and no in-person attendance: every programme is delivered online by design, not as a temporary arrangement.
Approach
How LAAD teaches
LAAD's approach is dual-formation: technical vocational training on one side, and the development of independent artistic judgement on the other. Programmes are project-led, so learning is anchored to work you produce and can show.
The emphasis throughout is on strong foundations, structured projects, consistent practice and direct feedback — the things that make a portfolio hold up under review.

LAAD does not currently advertise any programme for applicants under 18.

Read the programme pages and shortlist the route closest to what you want to make and where you want to go next. If you are unsure, say so when you get in touch — narrowing this down is part of the conversation.

Use the enquiry form, email or WhatsApp. Tell us the programme you are interested in, your current experience, and your preferred start.

Have a consultation
The academy discusses your goals, prior study and portfolio with you, and confirms which route fits. Portfolio consultations can be booked directly.

Share your documents and work
Provide the identification, prior-study records and portfolio material relevant to the route you have chosen. The academy will tell you exactly what is needed for your case.

Confirm your place
Enrolment, payment arrangements and your start date are confirmed with the academy directly.
Preparation
Useful things to have ready
- A sense of your goal University entry, professional practice, career change, or personal development.
- Your prior study Any previous art, design or academic study, formal or self-taught.
- Examples of your work Anything you have made — sketchbooks, drawings, digital work, photographs of finished pieces. Unfinished work is fine and often more useful.
- Your availability Roughly how many hours a week you can commit, and your time zone.
- Your questions Bring them to the consultation; that is what it is for.

Tuition fees, payment schedules, intake dates, application deadlines and any discounts or financial support are confirmed directly by the academy and are not published on this site.
Please contact admissions for current figures and dates for the route you are considering. We would rather tell you the real number than publish one that has changed.

Frequently asked questions
Is LAAD taught online or in person?
Entirely online. The UK address is a correspondence address only, and there is no campus to attend.
Do I need previous art or design training?
Not for the foundation, hobby and preparation routes. For vocational study the academy will look at your background and portfolio and advise on the right starting point.
Do I need to submit a portfolio?
It depends on the route. Portfolio-focused and vocational routes involve reviewing your work; the academy will tell you what to send when you enquire.
What language is teaching delivered in?
LAAD publishes this site in English and Turkish. Confirm the teaching language for your specific programme and intake with the academy before you enrol.
How much does it cost, and when does it start?
Fees and dates are not published here. Contact admissions and you will be given the current figures for your route.
Can I study from outside the UK?

What happens after I finish?
Programmes are built to leave you with disciplined technique and a body of project work. LAAD also describes a consultation-led lateral-transfer pathway to some UK universities; entry is never automatic and remains each university's decision.
